Allwyn Relaunches Local Retail Champions for 2025 with New Awards and Bigger Prizes

Allwyn has announced the return of its Local Retail Champions campaign for 2025, celebrating retailers across the UK who not only sell National Lottery products but also make a lasting impact in their communities.

Nominations and New Innovation Award

Nominations are now open until 19 October, giving retailers and customers the chance to highlight those who go above and beyond in supporting local causes. Following last year’s strong response, which saw nearly 1,000 nominations, the programme is expected to draw even more attention this year.

For 2025, a new Innovation Award has been introduced. Unlike the main awards, this category allows retailers to nominate themselves by presenting creative ideas to promote National Lottery Good Causes in their stores. Winners of this award will receive cash prizes along with support to put their proposals into practice.

Prizes and Recognition

The prize pool for the initiative is substantial. Two national champions will be awarded £15,000 each, while 16 regional winners will receive £5,000. Innovation Award winners will take home £2,500 in cash, plus an additional £2,500 to fund their ideas.

Promotion of the scheme will take place through major news outlets and in-store posters to reach as many retailers and communities as possible. The campaign has highlighted remarkable stories in the past, such as shop owners who have supported food banks, schools and shelters, making a genuine difference in the lives of those around them.

By rewarding local retailers in this way, Allwyn continues to underline the essential role small businesses play in connecting the National Lottery with its wider mission of supporting good causes. The winners of the 2025 Local Retail Champions will be revealed on 20 November.
