BLAST and Ubisoft have presented a new LED floor system at the BLAST R6 Major in Munich, introducing a technology designed to change how competitive Rainbow Six events look and feel on stage. This marks the first time an LED floor of this kind has been used in an industry esports setting, bringing visual motion directly under players’ feet and integrating the stage with match action.
A stage that reacts to the game
The LED floor displays team colours, reactive motion, round highlights and transitional visuals that sync with key tournament moments. Instead of relying only on overhead screens and backdrop panels, the new setup turns the stage itself into a storytelling surface.
During team walkouts, the floor presents animated paths and unique identity patterns. Between rounds, it shifts to show score updates, tactical details and thematic effects tied to the Rainbow Six universe. The aim is to create a stronger connection between the match and the physical space, giving fans something they do not usually see at live events.
Raising the production standard for R6 esports
BLAST and Ubisoft describe the upgrade as part of a broader plan to elevate Rainbow Six tournaments and build a consistent visual identity for future Majors. The Munich event is the first to use this system, with more planned as the technology becomes a recurring element of BLAST produced stages.
The floor is engineered to handle the movement, heat and equipment required during a live championship, ensuring that creative effects do not interfere with competitive integrity.
The BLAST R6 Munich Major continues through its scheduled stages, with the new LED floor serving as a central part of the event’s presentation and atmosphere.
